Energy Service Contractors

(ESCO's)

We can estimate the impact of window film on most buildings using energy modeling software co-developed by the Department of Energy (DOE), 3M Company, and the International Window Film Association. EFILM, the software standard of the window film industry, is based on the DOE’s Energy Plus model. Or, if you prefer, we can provide you with the 3M window film components specific to your software (TRACE™ 700, eQuest, etc) so that you can measure the impact of our window films yourself.

Akron Glass Tinting has completed several large–scale projects. Most of these were driven by an energy service contractor seeking ways to help their customer save money and balance temperature. Our latest project is a 20-story building in Dayton.

This particular project was a PACE project. PACE Financing is a financing method with great benefits, made just for investments in energy efficiency to commercial properties.

3M Insulating Window Film

3M Insulating Films reduce a window's SHGC and U Value which in turn increases the energy efficiency of a building’s envelope. We can decrease kWh usage and reduce temperature imbalances, all at a fraction of the cost of glass replacement. With a three- to seven-year payback and films warrantied for up to 15 years, ESCOs are embracing our solutions for their customers.
